Excellent interview. Dr. Duplan is right on target relative to water issues facing mankind. His comment that “water is carbon” is right on. Our organization has been advokating his points for several years now and it is refreshing to see that software companies in Silicon Valley like Locus are now providing tools to the industry to deal with water issues.

This was an immensely informative 30 minutes. I echo the comment above, i.e., ‘water is carbon’ is a concept whose time has come. Especially considering the amount of water needed to generate energy. Locus’ tools for implementing facility-wide control of all media (including water) makes economic sense. It would also signal a company’s commitment to green and sustainable practices beyond the minimum required and mere PR.

The tides are changing in this space very quickly and it seems like experts across the board agree that water will become the biggest environmental concern in the next year or so. Very interesting.
